Nutmeg Cake

Hi, I just wanted to share my Nutmeg Cake recipe with you. It's a very simple loaf cake recipe that needs no icing; is sweet but not TOO sweet. It's great with a cup of hot tea or coffee.  Makes one 9x5-inch loaf cake.  Enjoy!

Ingredients & Directions:

1/2 c. butter or margarine

1 c. white sugar

1 egg

Then cream together...

2 c. flour

1 tsp. baking soda

1 1/2 tsp. nutmeg

 

Add these dry ingredients to the creamed mixture alternately with...

 

1 c. sour milk

1 tsp. vanilla

 

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
